Elmsfeuer is a semi-dry sparkling rhubarb wine. Elmsfeuer is made from Danish rhubarb of the variety Elmsfeuer. In the Nordic climate, Elmsfeuer rhubarb has optimal conditions. The temperature differences between the cool nights and the long bright days give the rhubarb a long ripening time, which develops a fantastic aroma and a completely unique acid profile. The must is fermented on the pulp at low temperature, after which the wine is fermented a second time in a bottle. Stores a minimum of 9 months before release.
Elmsfeuer is served chilled and is recommended as a different and exquisite aperitif or as a perfect accompaniment to summery salads or dishes with baby vegetables, asparagus, fjord trout, lobster, air-dried ham, tapas and goat cheese.
