Ben A Barrique is a barrel-aged sparkling sweet blackcurrant wine. Ben A Barrique is produced from hand-sorted Danish blackcurrants of the Ben Alder variety. The Danish blackcurrants have optimal conditions in the Nordic climate, where the temperature differences between the cool nights and the long bright days give them a long ripening time, which develops fantastic aromas and a unique acid profile. The blackcurrants are mashed and fermented at a low temperature together with the skins to extract all the flavours. It is then blended with apple wine to create the perfect balance between aroma and acidity. The wine is placed in French barriques from Burgundy (old casks from Romanée-Conti) where the wine ages for 24 months. Ben A Barrique ferments a second time in the bottle and is left sur lie in in the bottle for at least 24 months before disgorging. Finally, dosage is added.

Ben A Barrique is served alone or with mature cheeses.
